Sensory Snow Play

Sensory play is a great activity to help your child's learning and development. Let your child experience the touch and feel of snow in a safe and fun filled environment.

Ride in a Tube or Sled

Put your child in a snow tube or sled and take them for a ride through the Snow Play area! This activity is especially great for the younger ones who love being pushed or pulled around.

Build a Snow Man

Grab a plow, bucket and our Snow Man props and help your child build a mini Snow Man. Don’t forget to take a photo and throw it up on Instagram with the hashtag #SNOWPLAYADL

Make Snow Angels

Now your child doesn’t have to be sleeping to be a little angel! Lay them down in a pile of snow, help them wave their arms and legs on the snow surface and presto - A Little Snow Angel!

Plus heaps of other activities to keep your child amused!

Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s our list of the most frequently asked Snow Play questions!
Do additional adults require a ticket?
Any additional adults whom are coming to spectate do not require a ticket. However, we do generally only allow one additional person on the ice per child at any one time for children under 5 who require an accompanying adult.
Is the ice surface slippery?
The Snow Play ice surface is relatively rough and although slightly slippery in some areas, can be walked on safely. Enclosed shoes are required for health and safety and to stop your child getting cold feet!
What clothing should my child wear?
Due to the low temperature of the IceArenA, we always recommend the warmest winter clothing possible. Many parents choose to put their children in warm winter clothes with a onesie or puffer jacket over the top. We also recommend gloves, a beanie and gumboots if you wish.
I am pregnant, can I go on the ice with my child?
Unfortunately we don’t recommend going on the ice if you are pregnant. However, you are more than welcome to bring another adult along to accompany your child if you want.
Is my 1 year old too young for Snow Play?
Generally it's okay if they are able to walk although some children don't mind being pulled or pushed around in a tube or sled for most of the time. We’ve had a number of 12 to 18 month olds who have had a great time!
Do you provide gloves and beanies?
No, we don't provide gloves or beanies however they are recommended for Snow Play. We have a limited range of children's gloves and beanies available for purchase at reception for $5.00 each on the day.
Are tickets available for purchase on the door?
Due to a limited capacity for Tuesday and Saturdays sessions, we are unable to sell tickets on the door. We are however able to sell tickets for Friday night sessions where there is a higher limit due to the availability of the large ice.
Do you take group bookings?
Group bookings can be made for any of the three sessions, for larger groups we recommend booking a few weeks in advanced to guarantee availability of places. Private sessions can be organised by emailing tyson@icearena.com.au.

What other parents had to say about Snow Play!

Denise W
We went last year and have tickets in hand for this year. Perfect for all ages as there are toboggans and tyre tubes you can pull the kiddies around on. We attended the Tuesday session where there are no big kids except for the adults!
Sarah L
Our first Snow Play session was a blast, I literally had to drag my son out when the time was up! We will definitely be attending again in the future.
Claire M
My son and I came this morning and had such a great time. Congratulations on providing a suitable activity for children of different age groups!
